We are glad to share that this past weekend Mr. Stan Czubernat, Watch Angel’s historical consultant and curator of the Waltham Field & Marine and A-17 projects, has been awarded the 2023 NAWCC Kenneth Roberts — Snowden Taylor Award for Horological Research Excellence, on occasion of the NAWCC National Convention which was held in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
The award has been granted for Mr. Czubernat’s body of work and the three books he wrote over several years pertaining to the dawn of the American wristwatch industry during the WWI era.
Mr. Czubernat’s statement on receiving the award:
«I thank the members of the selection committee for their votes. It feels great knowing that my name will be on the walls of the National Watch & Clock Museum along with the highly esteemed recipients of this award that came before me. Thank you also to all those who purchased a copy of my books and the American made WWI trench watches that I’ve restored over the past 15 years because they made my research possible. I truly feel honored and blessed and I never thought that I’d be a best selling award winning author! You will see a 4th book from me in the future so stay tuned!»
«I also would like to thank those who endorsed my candidature: author Fred Friedberg, Cliff Diamond, Jack Wood, Antonio DiBenedetto owner of Waltham Watches, Guido Benedini CEO of Watch Angels, Seth Schwinger & highly respected horological journalist Olivier Muller. It’s been an honor serving as historian for Waltham Watches on their new watch projects, the Waltham Field & Marine, the Waltham Thermo and their latest project the Waltham A17 Pilot’s Watch!»
